Fast Food Leads to Eczema and Asthma

Scientists have warned of new dangers that threaten lovers of hamburgers and french fries, the newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda reports .

Fast food is especially dangerous for children. Scientists from the New Zealand University of Auckland and the British University of Nottingham examined half a million children from more than 50 countries and came to the disappointing conclusion that regular trips to McDonald’s in childhood would not lead to good.

Those who visit fast food restaurants at least 3 times a week are at risk for bronchial asthma, eczema and watery eyes. Researchers believe that it is fast food that is the main culprit in the recent sharp increase in diseases of bronchial asthma and eczema among children.

The main disadvantage of fast food is that it contains saturated and trans-fatty acids that reduce immunity. Fruits are rich in antioxidants and other beneficial substances.

In the examined children who visited fast food restaurants at least 3 times a week, the level of asthma was found to be 39% higher than in children eating normally. Those who eat fruit at least 3 times a week reduce the likelihood of this disease by 11-14%.
